For most places, Fall brings up images of beautiful autumn colors but here in South Florida we don't have that so we have to create our own fall ambiance. Your first step in doing this would be to get yourself a pumpkin in celebration of Halloween! Now we know that South Florida's version of pumpkin patches are few and far between but we have compiled a list of the best. Take a look.

Pumpkin Patch at Little Farm Miami-Dade

For those who want a unique experience, drop by the Little Farm. While it is a bit of a drive, this traditional family farm lets you get away from the concrete and simply enjoy nature while getting your pumpkin. Once you’re there make sure to stop by their petting farm and maybe get a scarecrow kit. Oh and you get a free pony ride with each pumpkin purchased!

If you want more of a Halloween experience, drop by the Flamingo Road Nursery’s Fall Festival. Once you’ve stopped by their pumpkin patch, join in on their horse-drawn hayrides, petting zoo and face painting. Make sure to stop by their Harvest Market and pick up some goodies!

Make it a family affair and head to this patch for a good photo opportunity. Take pictures with the wooden pumpkin and scarecrows located throughout the area. With hundreds of pumpkins, this patch has the most choices. Not only will you have a huge variety, but every purchase will benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade.

For those who feel a little more giving, go by the First United Methodist Church of Coral Springs' pumpkin patch. Proceeds from each purchase will benefit one of their mission projects. Whether feeding the homeless locally or helping out internationally, each pumpkin sale will benefit someone in need.

If you want more of a variety, go by Key Biscayne Community Church. They have your standard pumpkin as well as white pumpkins, gourds and corn stalks and other Halloween goodies. If you’re with the kids, head to the playground at the Village Green Park across the street.

Not only do they have pumpkins, but they also have activities for you and the kids. Join them for their pumpkin carving contest October 15. If you can’t make it out that day, go by their Fall Festival on October 29 and enjoy pony rides, obstacle courses, crafts, bounce house and a petting zoo.
